A Day in the life of a Patient Service Administrator
Meet Eilish Mccreadie, Patient Service Administrator at Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital. We asked Ellish what a typical day looks like, and what the favourite parts of her role are.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I am part of the front of house team and often the first point of contact for incoming calls and appointments at the hospital. I ensure patients are directed to the appropriate department. I also carry out various administration duties such as preparing paperwork for our inpatients team.
If someone wasn’t familiar with your role, how would you describe it?
It is a very customer focused role from providing a first impression either on phone or in person, handling calls, managing schedules, and ensuring everything is in its right place.
What are the favourite parts of your role?
Being the face of the hospital to welcome patients and make them feel at ease and being part of a great team.
What have you found most challenging in your role?
It can become very busy there is a need to multi-task and handle request simultaneously. Good communication and patience is required.
