Meet Andrew Skinner, Radiology Clinical Team Lead at Nuffield Health Hospital Newcastle-Upon-Tyne

Andrew joined us as a Senior Radiographer at the beginning of 2020, progressing to Clinical Team Lead 9 months ago, deputising for the Radiology Manager. Andrew shares his experience with us so far.

Tell us about the team you work in?

I work for the Radiology department which encompasses fellow Radiographers, Radiologists, Healthcare Assistants and Administrative staff. The team is hard working and are forcused upon giving our patients the best outcomes that they can.

Why have you stayed at Nuffield Health?

Working at Nuffield Health supports my current carer growth, they have supported me progressing into junior management as well as studying a related post-graduate course.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Nuffield Health?

My favorite thing about working at Nuffield Health is my supportive team in Radiology.

What is your career highlight?

My most recent carer highlight is taking on the Clinical Team Lead role. This has allowed me to progress professionally and take on additional management responsibilities as well as running a local training program in radiation safety.

Would you recommend someone to join Nuffield Health?

Moving to working for a private healthcare provider is not for all and it has taken me a few years to adapt having come from a career in the NHS. Nuffield Health is very supportive but the Radiographer role and its specialisms are very different from its equivalent in the NHS.
