Life as a Nuffield Health Apprentice
Ben joined Nuffield Health as a non-qualified Personal Trainer (PT) on our 'PT Enhanced Level 3' apprenticeship programme. This apprenticeship delivers the Level 2 in Instructing Exercise & Fitness qualification and the Level 3 in Personal Training qualification.
It’s a great way to get Ben out on the gym floor to gain hands-on, practical experience while supporting him in his studies. Here's what Ben had to say about his apprenticeship experience so far:
"I’m finding my Personal Training apprenticeship very enjoyable as it's providing me with the skills and confidence to perform as a PT. I have recently achieved my Level 3 certificate and can now commence delivering PT sessions.
Doing this apprenticeship was a great way of getting into the fitness industry as it helps you understand all types of different situations and scenarios that you have to deal with while working in a gym as a Personal Trainer. If anyone is wanting to pursue a career as a PT, I would recommend doing this programme."
Ben’s Line Manager, Blayne Comerford shares his experience working with the apprenticeship team:
"Here in Barrow, we have difficulties hiring personal trainers, so the apprenticeship scheme was ideal for us due to our location and the lack of quality candidates we have in the area.
The apprenticeship team worked closely with myself and my Fitness Manager, Charlotte, to source candidates who we interviewed. We then informed the apprenticeship team of Ben being successful in his interview.
The apprenticeship team then worked with us to help recruit Ben into the business as an 'Apprentice PT' on the PT L3 apprenticeship. Communication was great from start to finish and we regularly speak with the apprenticeship team to keep them updated on Ben's progress.
It's been great to watch Ben grow in confidence throughout his apprenticeship, so much so, he has recently passed his level 3 practical and is close to completing his full diploma.
We’re all very proud of him."
