Lovely memories
Meet Sadie, Level 5 Early Years Senior Practitioner and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) at Nuffy Bear Nursery Tunbridge Wells.
What made you want to pursue a career in your role?
From a young age I have wanted to pursue a carer in early years. When I first started in early years I found that there were more opportunities within the industry and this encouraged me to want to purse a career into management and becoming SENCO.
What made you choose a career with Nuffield Health?
I came to work for Nuffield Health due to the opportunity to be able to grow and develop within the early years industry. I started off as a Level 3 Practitioner and with the support of Nuffy Bear I have been able to gain my Level 5 qualification and progress into senior management and become SENCO. Nuffield Health are supportive in helping you develop and build on your knowledge by sending you on training.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
The part I enjoy most about my role is being apart of all the children`s journeys and supporting them in their learning to become the best version of themselves. I also enjoy having a good relationship with the parents and carers as they are the most important part of the children`s lives.
What do you enjoy most about working at Nuffield Health?
Nuffield Health has a good ethos and learning environment for the children, with the child-centred approach to learning being used. For staff working at Nuffield Health it is a good way for networking with other Nuffy Bear Nurseries and agencies required, helping you as a practitioner to continue to learn and develop within this industry.
Describe your colleagues and your relationship as a team?
We have a close team within the Nursery and it is like a little family. We work together for ten hours a day, four days a week and 51 weeks of the year. We know each other well and this helps us to support the children and meeting their needs. Days can be challenging within the Nursery, however, we recognise that it is by being able to communicate with each other and being able to support one another can get us through. The Manager is always their for us and is doing whatever she can to support us, both personally and professionally.
Tell us about a proud moment you’ve had in your role?
My proudest moment within my role is watching the children learning and archiving their full potential. For me personally, it is developing and continuing to learn within this role and provide the best practice I can for the children within my care.
Tell us about a memory at Nuffield Health that you will never forget?
I have lots of lovely memories from working at Nuffield Health, from going on trips with the children, their swimming lessons and the dancing around the Nursery. I hope to have lots more lovely memories as I continue working at Nuffield Health.
