Making a difference
Meet Rebecca Mushambi, our Radiology Manager at Leicester Hospital.
Tell us about the team you work in?
Our radiology team is a small team of 16, 10 radiographers, 2 Healthcare assistants and 4 bookings administrators.
Why did you choose to work at Nuffield Health?
In the beginning it was just moving to the private sector and somewhere which suits my needs in terms of flexibility. In time I have come to love the company for our purpose and strategy. I love the values and our personalised approach to healthcare. Our flagships programs to give back and support the community is wonderful and something I relate to and wants to be involved in.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Nuffield Health?
The family feel and a sense of belonging and feeling my contribution makes a difference.
What is your career highlight/s?
Building a strong and high performing team, I love my team, they are most hardworking and funniest team I know. Taking my level 5 apprenticeship whilst running the department and balancing it with home life and kids has made me feel proud of myself.
Tell us about your career progression at Nuffield Health?
I started in Nuffield as a Senior Radiographer back in 2010 and progressed to the Radiology manager role within 2 years and I have held this post for 11 years now. I am nearly completing a level 5 apprenticeship with the hope of progressing to a senior management role
How do you use your employee benefits?
I am a member of the gym although I don’t attend as much as I should. I also have a partner on a discounted membership fee. I have my husband and children on the healthcare scheme and this has been a tremendous help especially with the kids and the bonus is the scheme is so subsidised you don’t feel like you are paying anything at all.
What does the Equity Forum at Nuffield Health mean to you?
This is a platform which really supports inclusivity and people can come together to be open and help in finding ways to make Nuffield Health an inclusive and diverse place to work in
