Pursuing a career in HR
Meet Jack Thomson, Senior People Administrator at our Epsom Head office. Jack tells about his career progression since joining us 16 months ago.
Tell us about your career progression at Nuffield Health?
I joined Nuffield Health seeking to pursue a career in HR, which I am happy to say has flourished during my short time here. Internal progression is encouraged and supported when opportunities arise allowing me to be promoted within the first 6 months to Senior. The company also offers plenty of courses and apprenticeships to help with career development. I am currently undergoing my Level 3 HR Apprenticeship which will provide me with the skills needed to continue my growth.
Tell us about the team you work in?
I work specifically In the Recruitment & Onboarding Function of HR. I oversee recruitment advertisement posting and onboarding of new starters into all our Clinical and Consumer sites across the South of England. We are large diverse team who work seamlessly together to reach our common goals of great customer service and attention to detail. I could not ask for a better group!
Why did you choose to work at Nuffield Health?
I was already a user of the Nuffield Health facilities and the Free gym membership for employees and discounted rates for family members was certainly an attraction. Also, to be a part of an organisation that promotes physical and mental wellbeing aligns with my values as a person along with the Learning and Development opportunities through the Nuffield Health Academy.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Nuffield Health?
Getting to work with so many different types of talented and specialist colleagues, I feel like I am constantly developing my skills through their support and leadership. Also, the flexible ways of working allow me to have a great work life balance.
What is your career highlight so far?
Getting promoted so early on into my career at Nuffield Health has allowed me to lead a team of 9 amazing administrators has been so special to me. It has given me the opportunity to grow my management skills and become more confident within my role.
